What equipment do I need to run Vetlog?

• PC with a minimum 700Mhz processor, 128mb RAM, 50Mb free hard disc space
• CD-ROM Drive
• Version 2.4 - Windows XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium, Vista Business and Vista Ultimate
• Version 2.3 - Microsoft Windows version 98, 98SE, 2000, XP Home, XP Pro - If you have earlier versions of Windows than XP and require Version 2.3, please contact us for further details and to order.
• A free USB or serial Port

Will Vetlog work on a Mac?
No, at the moment Vetlog is only designed to work on PC's.

What data will Vetlog provide me with?
Trace Charts and reports of all your temperature readings as well as statistics reports and summary details of all readings. You can also get charts detailing how many times a reading has occurred within a specific coverage. All reports and charts can be altered to show the particular date and time you wish. All data, once downloaded onto your PC, is permanently stored on Vetlogs database.   Please download a sample of the reports generated by Vetlog at the bottom of this page.

What temperature range does Vetlog have?
From -40 degrees Centigrade to +85 degrees Centigrade.  Vetlog can therefore be used in other areas such as freezers if desired.

I'm not very computer literate, is Vetlog complicated to use?
Vetlog has been designed to be very easy to use.  It comes with a full user manual, taking you through every step of the software installation and capsule set up.  After installing your software all you will then need to do is:
1.    Program your capsule by clicking the button called program. 
2.    You will then be able to place your capsule in the fridge. 
3.    When you want to download the results, click download and choose your results in the format that suits you.

Obviously if you would like to do more with your capsule, then there are other functions you can explore.


Capsule Questions

Do the same capsules work with both Versions 2.4 and 2.3?
Yes, exactly the same with both.

How do I change my capsule's battery?
You don’t! When the capsules battery goes flat (approximately 10 years) you will need to buy another one.

Are the Capsules waterproof?
The capsules are waterproof to IP67 standards, so they may be soaked or temporarily immersed in water to a pressure depth of one metre.

Will a capsule fit in my Consulting Room fridge?
Yes, the capsules are about the size of a key and have been designed to fit into small spaces such as Consulting Room fridges!  The picture below gives an idea of the capsules size.
